Arise News drops Anthony Kila over alleged falsification of academic credentials
By Johnson Arua
Arise News has announced the immediate and indefinite exclusion of political analyst, Anthony Kila, from its platform following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.
The news network, in a disclaimer issued by its Editorial Board, said the decision followed a damning investigative report by Premium Times Newspapers into Kila’s academic qualifications.
Arise News said it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to seek his response to the allegations, but he requested more time to respond and had yet to do so 10 days after.
The network said the allegations had continued to worsen in the absence of a response from the analyst.
“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to The Arise News Channel is no longer tenable,” the statement said.
Arise News explained that it was unaware of the allegations when Kila appeared on its platform as a freelance political analyst.
It, however, stressed that it took issues of credibility and integrity seriously and had taken note of the findings of the Premium Times investigation.
“Mr Kila will not be appearing on our networks at anytime now or the future – effective immediately,” the Editorial Board declared.
The decision effectively ends Kila’s appearances on the news network, where he had featured several times as a political analyst.
The allegations against Kila centre on claims that he falsified his academic credentials. However, Arise News said it had sought his response before reaching its decision.
