Davido mourns Kebbi kidnappings, Kwara church attack: “These acts must never be our norm”

Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed profound grief over the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the deadly attack on a church in Kwara State.

In a heartfelt Instagram story shared late Wednesday, Davido said his thoughts were with the kidnapped children and their families, stressing that no family should ever endure such anguish.

“My heart goes out to the young girls kidnapped in Kebbi State and to their families. No family deserves this pain,” he wrote.

The award-winning singer urged Nigerians to unite and recommit to building a nation where every child can live without fear.

“As Nigerians, we must stand together in unity and continue working towards a country where every child can grow up in safety and hope,” he added.

Davido described the Kwara church attack as devastating, offering prayers for the bereaved families and all those affected. He emphasized that violent incidents of this kind must never be normalized.

“I am also deeply saddened by the tragic attack on the church in Kwara State. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and for everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident. These acts of violence must never become our norm,” he said.

The musician called for intensified efforts to ensure the safe return of the abducted Kebbi schoolgirls and appealed to anyone with credible information to come forward through secure and responsible channels to aid rescue operations.

Davido concluded his message with prayers for the kidnapped children, comfort for grieving families in Kwara, peace across the country, and accountability for those fueling violence.

The incidents in Kebbi and Kwara have drawn widespread concern, prompting renewed calls for stronger security measures to safeguard citizens nationwide.
