Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has allegedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
Okorocha was arrested on Monday night, October 12, 2026, following an alleged failure to honour repeated police invitations in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation.
The arrest reportedly followed the issuance of a bench warrant against the former governor after he failed to appear before the police as requested.
Okorocha was allegedly initially invited to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on September 2, 2026, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers.
However, the former governor allegedly failed to honour the rescheduled invitation, prompting further action by the police.
