NSCDC arrests 3 suspects over kidnapping, robbery in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping, robbery, and theft across the state.

The suspects were presented to the media at the NSCDC headquarters in Lafia by the State Commandant, Brah Samson Umoru, who spoke through the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, DSC Jerry Victor.

According to the command, one of the suspects, 27-year-old Muktar Shuaibu, was apprehended in Kwandere village, Lafia Local Government Area, in connection with a recent kidnapping-related incident.

The other two suspects were arrested at different locations within the state, following intelligence reports on their criminal activities.

DSC Victor noted that the suspects had reportedly been terrorizing residents in Ungwan Liman and Kwandere villages in Lafia LGA, as well as Bassa village in Doma LGA, disrupting the peace of local communities.

“The swift action by our officers has helped restore a sense of security to the affected areas,” he said, adding that the suspects would face further investigation.

The NSCDC urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security authorities, emphasizing the Corps’ commitment to tackling crime in the state.

Officials confirmed that the arrested suspects would be handed over to the appropriate legal authorities to ensure due process.

This development comes amid growing concerns over rising incidents of kidnapping and robbery in Nasarawa State, prompting security agencies to intensify patrols and community policing initiatives.

The command has assured the public that similar operations will continue across the state to safeguard lives and property.
