Ambassador Lilian Adoyi Ofiebor, a leading female aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, in the 2027 general elections, has purchased her nomination and expression of interest forms, signaling her formal entry into the race.

Ofiebor, who is a major force in the race,  presented the forms to her kinsmen and called for their backing as she pursues her political ambition.

In a message shared via her social media platforms, the aspirant urged the people of the constituency to unite behind her candidacy, stressing the need for collective action and shared purpose.

“Power is never gifted, it is claimed by those bold enough to rise,” she declared, framing her bid as a call to courage and participation among her constituents.

Addressing the people of Otukpo and Ohimini, Ofiebor described her aspiration as a defining moment for the constituency, rooted in both heritage and a commitment to fairness and unity.

She paid tribute to her maternal and paternal roots, highlighting the values of loyalty, courage, and conviction which she said define the people of the constituency.

“This is not just an announcement, it is a moment of alignment,” she stated, adding that her ambition represents a broader quest for equity and justice.

The aspirant emphasized that her candidacy goes beyond personal ambition, describing it as a collective movement aimed at strengthening unity and ensuring fair representation.

“A belief that equity is not a favour, but a right; a belief that unity is not a slogan, but a duty we must uphold together,” she said.

Ofiebor further called on constituents to actively participate in the political process, urging them not to remain passive observers but to take ownership of the journey ahead.

“Do not watch this story unfold without participating. Let’s all own it because this is not just my readiness, it is our time,” she added.

Her declaration adds to the growing number of aspirants positioning for elective offices ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly in Benue State, where political activities are gradually gaining momentum.
