Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández after lengthy negotiations between the two Premier League clubs.

The deal, which is understood to be worth more than £125 million, has reportedly been approved by Chelsea, paving the way for Fernández to complete his move to the Etihad Stadium.

Fernández is said to have made it clear that Manchester City was his preferred destination, with personal terms expected to be finalised as part of the transfer process.

The 25-year-old midfielder is now expected to undergo a medical before completing the move to Enzo Maresca's side.

His departure would represent a major blow to Chelsea, who signed Fernández from Benfica in January 2023 for a British-record fee at the time.

If completed, the transfer would rank among the biggest deals in Premier League history and become one of the most significant moves of the summer transfer window.

The move would also further strengthen Manchester City's midfield as Enzo Maresca continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new season.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will face the task of replacing one of their most influential midfielders following the reported agreement with their Premier League rivals.
