PTML Customs records ₦424.5bn revenue in 2025, targets one-hour cargo clearance in 2026

The Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a total revenue collection of ₦424,584,608,992.26 as of Friday, December 12, 2025, surpassing its annual target with weeks still left in the year.

The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Joe Anani, disclosed this while speaking at the 2025 end-of-year party organised by the Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter.

Comptroller Anani said the figure exceeded the command’s 2025 total revenue projection of ₦362.5 billion by over ₦62 billion, describing the performance as an indication of brighter prospects ahead, particularly with the full implementation of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu.

“The revenue collection as at December 12, 2025 stands at ₦424.58 billion, which means we have surpassed our annual target of ₦362.5 billion with more than ₦62 billion, even before the year ends,” Anani said.

According to him, the impressive performance reflects the positive impact of reforms and automation initiatives being driven by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD.

Describing 2025 as an eventful year marked by significant achievements, the PTML boss expressed optimism that the command would attain a one-hour clearance time for compliant Roll-On Roll-Off (RoRo) cargoes by 2026.

“With the continued deployment and optimisation of the Unified Customs Management System, we are confident that in 2026, compliant RoRo cargoes will be cleared within one hour,” he stated.

On anti-smuggling operations, Comptroller Anani said the command recorded notable successes in preventing illicit drugs, expired pharmaceuticals, arms and ammunition, and other prohibited items from entering the country.

He highlighted the seizure of cocaine valued at ₦29.4 billion, which was subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), describing it as one of the command’s landmark anti-smuggling achievements in 2025.

“Our officers have remained vigilant in intercepting prohibited and dangerous items capable of endangering the lives of Nigerians. The seizure and handover of cocaine worth ₦29.4 billion to the NDLEA stands out as a major success,” he said.

The Customs Area Controller attributed the command’s achievements to strong collaboration with stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, while expressing appreciation to sister security and regulatory agencies.

“We are grateful for the massive support we enjoy from stakeholders. I particularly thank the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, NAFDAC, and other sister agencies for their cooperation,” Anani added.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairperson of COWA, PTML Chapter, Mrs Caroline Ifeoluwa Anani, described the end-of-year party as a continuation of the command’s culture of unity and togetherness.

She noted that 2025 was equally eventful for COWA, stressing that the association played a vital role in supporting the productivity of officers at the home front.

“A productive workforce can either be made or marred from the home front, and COWA has continued to play critical roles in supporting the command,” she said.

Mrs Anani recalled that during the year, the PTML chapter of COWA organised mental health awareness programmes, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, eye screening and treatment, as well as the donation of medicated glasses.

She added that the association also held seminars on home management, food and nutrition, family care products, and provided souvenirs for each COWA husband in the command.

The highlight of the event was the donation of food items to women and children by the COWA chairperson, in the spirit of Christmas.
