Why Arteta may be sacked soon
By James Ike
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could be relieved of his duties if the club fails to secure either the Premier League or UEFA Champions League title this season, according to a report by UK Metro.
The Gunners’ campaign has suffered setbacks in recent weeks, effectively ending their pursuit of a historic quadruple.
Arteta’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and were also knocked out of the FA Cup by Southampton.
Their Premier League ambitions took another hit on Saturday following a 2-1 loss at home to Bournemouth.
Although Arsenal still hold a six-point lead at the top of the table, Manchester City remain firmly in contention with one game in hand, ans a crunch home game against Arsenal, putting additional pressure on the North London club.
Arteta, now in his sixth full season in charge, has guided Arsenal to just one major trophy—the FA Cup—since his appointment.
With expectations rising and opportunities slipping away, the remainder of the season is shaping up to be crucial in determining his future at the club.
