Again, Trump slams Nigeria over rising killings, threatens to cut aid and “Take Action”

United States President Donald Trump has once again launched a blistering attack on Nigeria, accusing the government of failing to curb violent assaults on Christian communities. He described the situation as “unacceptable” and warned that Washington may be forced to take additional measures if the killings persist.

Speaking on a conservative radio programme on Friday, Trump repeated his earlier threat to consider military intervention against Islamist militant groups should Nigerian authorities fail to “do more” to protect vulnerable communities.

“Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace. They’re killing people by the thousands. It’s a genocide, and I’m really angry about it. And we pay, you know, we give a lot of subsidies to Nigeria. We’re going to end up stopping,” Trump said.
