Troops repel terrorist attacks on military bases in Adamawa, Borno

The Nigerian Army has announced that troops of Operation Hadin Kai successfully repelled coordinated attacks by terrorists on military bases in parts of Adamawa and Borno states, killing several of the assailants in the process.
The Army disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by the Acting Media Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Captain S.A. Atokolo, who confirmed that the troops remained firmly in control of the affected locations.
According to the statement, the terrorists launched the attacks in the early hours of Friday in what appeared to be a coordinated attempt to overrun key military formations operating in the North-East.
Captain Atokolo said one of the attacks targeted a patrol base at Sabon Gari in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, which falls under Sector 4 of Operation Hadin Kai.
He explained that troops at the base responded swiftly to the assault, engaging the terrorists with superior firepower and preventing them from breaching the military position.
“As a result of the troops’ gallant resistance, several terrorists were neutralised, while others fled the area with possible injuries,” the statement noted.
The Army spokesman added that a separate but related attack was also repelled in parts of Borno State, as troops maintained heightened alertness across their areas of responsibility.
He emphasized that the successful defence of the bases demonstrated the improved operational capacity, vigilance, and resilience of troops deployed under Operation Hadin Kai.
Captain Atokolo further assured residents of the affected communities that the military remains committed to safeguarding lives and property, while sustaining pressure on terrorist elements operating in the region.
He urged members of the public to continue supporting ongoing military operations by providing timely and credible information, stressing that such cooperation remains critical to restoring lasting peace and security in the North-East.
