Omale urges massive turnout in Benue as APC flags off E-Registration exercise in home town

The Chairman of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Benjamin Omale, has called on party members across the state to participate massively in the ongoing electronic registration (E-Registration) exercise, describing it as critical to the party’s future, internal democracy and electoral success.

Omale made the call while flagging off the APC membership E-Registration exercise in his home local government area, Ohimini LGA, stressing that the exercise would expand opportunities for party members and strengthen the APC ahead of future elections.

According to him, widespread participation in the exercise would not only consolidate the party’s structure but also position the APC to retain power at both the state and federal levels, including the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The state chairman described the E-Registration as more than a routine party activity, saying it represents a “call to duty, loyalty and commitment” for all APC stakeholders in Benue State.

He explained that the exercise would serve as the foundation upon which the party’s political strength, electoral victories and internal democracy would be built, warning that any stakeholder who neglects the process risks weakening the party.

“In today’s political environment, data is power,” Omale said. “A party that does not know its members cannot protect them, mobilize them or defend their votes.”

He noted that the E-Registration would produce a credible and verifiable digital membership database that would determine eligibility to vote in party primaries, recognition as party members, qualification for appointments and support during elections.

“Let me be very clear: if your name is not in the APC E-Registration database, you are politically invisible,” he declared.

Omale further emphasized that the process would determine who selects the party’s candidates, who represents the APC at all levels of governance and who benefits from APC-led administration.

He maintained that no leader or stakeholder, regardless of status or influence, could operate outside the registration process, describing it as a struggle for control of the party’s future.

“Whoever controls the membership controls the party. That control must belong to loyal APC members, not political opportunists or infiltrators,” he said.

The APC chairman revealed that Governor Hyacinth Alia has given full support to the exercise, noting that the governor understands the need to build a strong party on a credible and verifiable membership structure.

He therefore charged ward chairmen, local government chairmen, party leaders, as well as elected and appointed officials to take ownership of the exercise by mobilizing, registering and supervising members at all levels.

“This is the moment to prove who is truly APC and who is only wearing the party’s name,” Omale added, urging leaders to rise to the challenge.

He concluded by expressing confidence that a united and committed APC would emerge stronger from the exercise, saying, “Together, we will build a party that cannot be rigged out, infiltrated or defeated.”
