Lobi Stars celebrate Chairman Ikya on birthday, hail transformational leadership

The management, staff, and players of Lobi Stars Football Club have congratulated their Chairman, Simon Terver Ikya, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his leadership for repositioning the club and restoring its competitive edge.

In a statement issued by the club’s Principal Media Officer, Austin Tyowua, the team commended Ikya’s stewardship, noting that his administration has brought renewed unity, discipline, and professionalism to the club.

“Mr. Ikya’s stewardship has recalibrated the club’s direction, instilling unity as the team’s core shape, discipline and decorum as its guiding principles, and a culture of promptness and industry that now defines both officials and players,” Tyowua stated.

He added that under Ikya’s leadership, the club has achieved greater coordination and efficiency, with all units working in harmony.

“Every unit has found its rhythm, functioning with clarity and cohesion like a well-drilled side executing a perfect game plan,” he said.

The statement also highlighted a major milestone recorded during Ikya’s tenure, including the club’s return to Makurdi after years of playing away from home. This, it said, was made possible through the support of Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and the Chairman’s commitment to ensuring that the McCarthy Stadium met league standards.

“By restoring the home ground, Lobi Stars recorded three wins from three matches, a flawless run that propelled the team from fifth position to a strong second-place finish, just three points behind the leaders,” the statement noted.

Describing Ikya as a leader of “calm authority, sound judgment, and purposeful direction,” the club expressed optimism that his tenure would continue to yield greater successes.

“Chairman sir, your tenure reflects calm authority, sound judgment, and purposeful leadership, As you celebrate today, may the seasons ahead bring greater accomplishments, good health, and continued success at the helm,” the statement added.
