Reality TV star and actress, Mercy Eke, has admitted that participating in the Big Brother Naija reality show remains one of the biggest decisions she regrets, despite the fame and career opportunities it brought her.

The winner of the popular reality television show made the disclosure during a recent episode of Toke Moments, hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa, where she reflected on life after emerging victorious on the show.

According to Mercy, adjusting to life outside the BBNaija house was more difficult than she had anticipated, noting that the fame that followed exposed her to constant public scrutiny and deprived her of a normal lifestyle.

"I regret going to Big Brother even though I love the benefits that come from it. I dey fall in love like mumu. Now I said to myself that I want to marry, I want to marry, but it's not easy," she said.

The actress also lamented the impact of her celebrity status on her personal relationships, revealing that finding a life partner has become increasingly difficult since leaving the reality show.

She further disclosed that she had financially supported some of the men she dated, saying, "I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to, not one, not two, because they don't have."

Mercy said she eventually relocated abroad in a bid to begin a new chapter away from the pressures of fame, adding that the move required her to adjust to a different lifestyle and work environment.

Speaking on the emotional challenges of being in the spotlight, she said many people often project their frustrations onto celebrities out of envy.

"A lot of people are living through you. I feel like that's where the anger comes from because they wish to be you. They now channel the anger that they should have taken to God to you," she said.

Despite expressing regret over participating in the reality show, Mercy acknowledged that BBNaija transformed her career and opened doors to opportunities that have significantly shaped her journey in the entertainment industry.
