Former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has dismissed reports suggesting he is preparing to contest the 2027 presidential election, describing a campaign poster circulating online as fake and misleading.

Ortom, through his Media Adviser and Consultant, Dr. Terver Akase, said the former governor has no intention of seeking the presidency or any elective office in the next general elections.

In the statement, Akase said the viral poster linking Ortom to the 2027 race was created by mischief makers determined to spread false information and stir unnecessary political tension.

He noted that the former governor had consistently made it clear that he would not participate in the 2027 elections as a candidate for any office.

“The poster making the rounds on social media claiming that Chief Samuel Ortom is vying for the presidency is entirely false and baseless,” Akase said.

He added that “It is the handiwork of individuals bent on misleading the public and creating confusion.”

Akase further reiterated that Ortom has no presidential ambition and urged Nigerians to disregard the publication, insisting that it was deliberately designed to fuel speculation and misinform unsuspecting members of the public.
