How Osun Police arrested suspects in killing and dismembering of body of FRSC officer, 12 year-old daughter

The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of an officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Funmilayo Lasisi and her 12-year-old daughter.

The victims were allegedly lured, killed, and dismembered, with their heads and vital organs removed by the perpetrators.

The suspects include the victim’s male friend, Fajemirokun Victor, 38; an herbalist, Gboyega Aberefa, 39; and his disciple, Sunday James, 38. Two other suspects identified as Kehinde and Idowu are still at large.

Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Osogbo, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, said the investigation began after Fajemirokun’s wife reported her husband missing.

She informed the police that he had travelled to Ikoyi before he disappeared, prompting operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to launch a search, during which only his vehicle was recovered along the roadside.

According to Gotan, further intelligence gathering led to the arrest of the herbalist on November 16. During interrogation, the herbalist confessed that Fajemirokun was a regular visitor and that he brought the FRSC officer and her daughter to his shrine in Ijebu-Jesa on November 2, 2025, allegedly for money rituals.

He disclosed that the woman and her daughter were killed by his boys, Sunday James and two others now on the run.

Speaking with journalists, Fajemirokun admitted taking the victims to the herbalist, claiming he had been told that the woman’s “existence was the cause of his problems.”

“After taking her to the temple, I was told she had to be killed for me to make it in life. I agreed, but after the act, I became disturbed and ran away,” he said.

“I returned to Ikoyi and abandoned my vehicle by the roadside. Then I travelled to Ibadan, lied that people were after my life, and some individuals contributed money to help me escape. That was how I fled to Ghana,” he added.

The herbalist, Aberefa, also confessed, stating that Fajemirokun insisted that both mother and daughter be killed.

“He brought the woman and her daughter to my house, claiming she was behind his misfortune and demanded that we kill them,” he said.

“He even wanted to kill her inside my house, but I refused. I then invited some boys, who took them into the bush, slaughtered them, removed their vital organs, and dumped the mother’s body in a river in Esa-Odo and the daughter’s body in a nearby bush.”

The Commissioner of Police assured the public that efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and recover the missing body parts. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
