Lagos State Police have unveiled chilling details of a murder plot in which a 35-year-old man, Sunday Sojunu, allegedly conspired with Dare Sampson to kill 45-year-old Ayoola Bello, reportedly his wife’s lover, in Ikorodu.

The case was brought before Ebute-Meta Magistrates’ Court.

According to the police prosecutor, ASP Kehinde Olatunde, Sojunu’s wife, Toyin, a TikTok content creator, was a central participant in the crime.

The defendants face three-count charges, including murder, kidnapping, and related offenses under the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, which prescribes the death penalty for murder upon conviction.

The prosecution revealed that Toyin first befriended Bello online and later visited him in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, in September, claiming to be on a trip to Cotonou, Benin Republic.

Following her return, she allegedly confessed to her husband about the affair, which led to the planning of Bello’s murder.

“Sojunu allegedly hired Sampson, a notorious cultist and wanted criminal, to carry out the killing. Bello was lured to their Ikorodu home, held captive, tortured, and forced to ingest poison, leading to his death,” ASP Olatunde stated.

The prosecutor further explained that the victims’ body parts were severed, packed in sacks, and dumped into a river at Adamo Junction, while the perpetrators collected N200,000 ransom from the victim’s family.

The court ordered the male defendants remanded at Ikoyi Prison and the female defendant at KiriKiri Correctional Facility, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The case has been adjourned until January 21, 2026.
