The Benue State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the indefinite suspension of a former House of Representatives aspirant for the Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Mr. William Enenche, over allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities.

The party's State Working Committee (SWC) said it ratified Enenche's suspension during an emergency meeting following an earlier disciplinary action initiated by his ward executives.

In a statement issued on behalf of the state chairman, Mr. Ohini Ojegbe, by the party's State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Agile Bem, the SWC said it reviewed several allegations and petitions against Enenche before reaching its decision.

"The State Working Committee of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has ratified the suspension of Mr. William Enenche with immediate effect," the statement read.

According to the party, the suspension followed a recommendation by Enenche's ward executives, which was subsequently communicated to the zonal and state leadership.

"The SWC, at its emergency meeting, examined all allegations levelled against Mr. Enenche, including a number of other petitions submitted at the state secretariat, and thereafter resolved to ratify his suspension from the NDC indefinitely," the statement added.

The party directed Enenche to stop presenting himself as a member or representative of the NDC in any capacity for the duration of the suspension.

"He is to henceforth cease parading himself as a member or representative of the party in whatsoever capacity during the period of his suspension," the statement said.

The NDC also called on its National Working Committee, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) to take note of the development and act accordingly.

Enenche had previously contested for the party's ticket to represent Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
