Sen. Moro spreads Christmas cheer in Benue South, distributes rice, livestock worth millions

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, PhD, has commenced the distribution of Christmas palliatives to his constituents across the district.

The exercise, which began on Thursday, involves the distribution of thousands of bags of rice, goats, chickens and other relief items to residents across party affiliations and religious backgrounds.

According to a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, the distribution has been arranged in batches to ensure orderly delivery, given the large volume of items involved. The palliatives are being transported to various local government areas for onward distribution to council wards and villages.

Senator Moro said the gesture was motivated by his desire to ensure that every family in Benue South benefits during the festive season.

“I want every family to have something from me this Christmas,” he said, while appealing to those handling the items at different levels to ensure transparency and fairness in the distribution process.

He stressed that special attention should be given to the aged and other vulnerable persons in rural communities to ensure they are not left out.

The palliatives, valued at hundreds of millions of naira, are scheduled for distribution as follows: Ado, Oju and Obi on December 18; Ohimini, Ogbadibo and Okpokwu on December 19; Apa, Agatu and Otukpo on December 20; APC, ADC, LP and various groups on December 21; with a mop-up exercise slated for December 22.
