Ambassador Lilian Adoyi-Ofiebor has formally declared her intention to contest the 2027 election into the House of Representatives for the Otukpo–Ohimini Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging inclusive leadership, youth empowerment, and accelerated development for the area.
Addressing party leaders, women, youths, and grassroots stakeholders at her declaration, Adoyi-Ofiebor said her decision was driven by a desire to translate years of humanitarian and community work into effective legislative representation at the National Assembly.
“I stand before you with deep humility, profound gratitude, and an unshakeable commitment to service as I officially declare my intention to contest the 2027 Federal House of Representatives election to represent Otukpo–Ohimini under the banner of the APC,” she said.
Describing herself as “a proud daughter of this great constituency born of Ohimini and rooted in Otukpo,” the aspirant traced her journey from humble beginnings in Benue to advanced studies abroad, noting that her experiences had shaped a people-centred vision for public service.
According to her, years of intervention through the Olohi Ga Eh Foundation have focused on women and girl-child empowerment, scholarships, skills acquisition, and youth development.
“I have created direct employment and supported young people into careers, including contributing to the success of some in professional sports abroad,” she stated.
However, Adoyi-Ofiebor said significant challenges still confront the constituency, including disunity, youth unemployment, cultism and insecurity, gaps in healthcare and education, as well as poor infrastructure and water scarcity.
“These are not just statistics; they are the lived realities of our people,” she said, adding that the situation requires “bold and transformative leadership.”
Explaining her choice of the APC, she said the party’s philosophy aligns with her development agenda. “I chose the APC because of its commitment to national development, economic reform, and inclusive governance.
True representation must prioritize grassroots empowerment, while unity and discipline remain foundational to sustainable progress,” she noted.
If elected, Adoyi-Ofiebor promised to focus on youth skills training and enterprise support, improved access to education—particularly for girls—better healthcare delivery, job creation through tourism and local industries, enhanced security collaboration, and infrastructure development including roads, water systems, and rural electrification.
“My aspiration is not only to be your voice in Abuja but your partner in progress,” she said. “Together, we can transform Otukpo–Ohimini into a beacon of development, unity, and opportunity.”
She concluded by appealing for prayers, support, and votes ahead of the 2027 polls, expressing confidence that collective effort would usher in “a brighter tomorrow” for the constituency.
