UEFA Champions League: Arteta sympathises with Simeone over near-miss season

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed sympathy for Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, saying he understands the emotional pain of coming close to success only to fall short.

Arteta further revealed that he personally relates to Simeone’s situation because he experienced a similar disappointment with Arsenal in the previous campaign.

“I feel in sync with him because I know what it’s like to be on the other side,” he added.
